19 Jan Uttlesford Local Plan
The Local Plan Inspector’s report into the soundness of Uttlesford’s new Local Plan has recently been published paving the way for the authority to adopt a new Local Plan for the first time in over 20 years and covering the period up to 2041.
The Inspector’s recommendation for adoption follows Examination in Public (EiP) during the summer of 2025 and is subject to the Main Modifications made during this process.
It is important to add that some uncertainty over the Council’s 5-year housing land supply position remains despite the green light for adoption with a review mechanism built in to address this if the Council continues to be unable to demonstrate a 5-year housing land supply 6 months from adoption.
In terms of formal adoption itself, this is expected at Full Council during the Spring with a specific date yet to be confirmed.
