Policy statement: a roadmap for Section 106 delivery in England – GOV.UK

Of particular importance to our work is a new roadmap setting out a clear plan to address the legacy of declining demand for S106 affordable housing units over recent years and to provide for a simpler, more transparent and more resilient S106 system to be better equipped in these circumstances.

The government is now calling on all areas of the sector to help them deliver this plan.

We agree that Section 106 agreements are, will remain, an essential mechanism for delivering social and affordable housing and the sector has a collective responsibility to ensure the systems work effectively on an ongoing basis.

We look forward to reviewing these important measures further to continue to get Britain building and please do not hesitate to get in touch should you require any further information in this respect.
