Phase 2 acted as lead consultant on securing planning permission for the redevelopment of land at Rivermead Industrial Estate, Chelmsford for a mixed use scheme containing 315 student dwellings and flexible D1/B1/B8 uses and retained D2 use class (leisure) comprising buildings of 3-5 storeys (Blocks A – D). This permission also secured new pedestrian bridges linking the site with Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) and the Local Nature Reserve, new public spaces, hard & soft landscaping & associated parking provision & infrastructure.
We worked collaboratively with Chelmsford City Council to realise the site’s potential being adjacent to the University with the development now providing much-needed quality student housing which is making a real difference to Chelmsford’s evolving status as a desirable University City.
